It is that time of year again, where you see lots of posts on LinkedIn and Twitter with people sharing the class, or classes they have submitted for Autodesk University 2021. That’s right its voting time again, your chance to help shape that #AU2021 will look like! This year the voting ends on May 12th, only 12 days after the submissions closed, so better be quick to let your voice be heard. This year I’m doing a technical demo session for #AU2020, of course, with it being 2020 it’s not going to be a normal AU session!
It is that time of year again, seeing old friends that you haven’t seen since last year, bright lights, lots of music, even more walking…yes Autodesk University is in the air! Of course, with it be 2020 nothing will normal and we won’t all be gathered together in Las Vegas next week. This year AU is going virtual, starting Nov. 17th and going until Nov. 20th and it is FREE for everyone! You can still register HERE.
Late in 2017, I set a goal for myself to speak at all 4 BILT events in 2018. As I look back on 2018 I’m happy to say I was able to reach my goal and speak at all 2018 BILT Conferences! I can also say that it was way more work than it seemed like it would be in Fall 2017.
Another Autodesk University, or AU as we all call it is in the books, and once again it was just me and 10,721 of my closest friends!
I will start by sharing AU2016 by the numbers (at least according to the Autodesk University Website).

The registration for this year’s University is set to open on August 17th, and when it does you will have a ton of classes to choose from in all sorts of disciplines and software. I thought I would help out with the selection process by suggesting a few classes from this year’s course catalog.

The AU 2016 acceptance emails came out at the end of last week and I was lucky enough to receive one again this year! I was surprised, maybe even a little shocked, to read that I had been accepted for 4 sessions! Maybe I got 4 because AU classes are divided into four types: Instructional Demo, Hands-on Lab, Roundtable, and Industry Talk and I have a class for each type.

I am honoured and excited to have been asked to share some of what I talked about at AU 2015 a few weeks ago in Vegas with all the FormIteers on the last FormIt Friday of 2015.
This is going to be a recap session of what I did at AU, as well as a chance to talk about some of the class feed back. As well as getting to spend a little time to focus on some things that there just wasn’t enough time to fit in at AU.

I just wanted to send out a quick post to let everyone know that AU has added Repeat of my session “Revit + FormIt = Bye Bye SketchUp”.
The repeat is on Tuesday Dec. 1st from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Marcello 4501b Level 4. “AS13981 – Revit + FormIt = Bye Bye SketchUp (Repeat)”
The original session is now full “AS9579 – Revit + FormIt = Bye Bye SketchUp”. The session is offered on Thursday Dec. 3rd from 3:00 – 4:00 pm – Delfino 4104 Level 4.
