AU 2026, Back in Vegas Baby!

Autodesk University was back in Las Vegas this year, and it just felt right. But it wasn’t the AU of old.

After being away from speaking at AU since 2020, it was good to be back. This year had me wearing a few different hats: speaking again, continuing my work in the SME program (previously the Speaker Mentor Program), attending the EE Summit, and spending a good chunk of time at the Newforma booth… I’m tired just writing that all out. 🥱

But as the week went on, I started noticing that things felt a little different. After spending so many years at AU in this exact location before COVID, I think I came back expecting the same old AU.

I guess you can’t really go back.

Well, not in time anyway, because AU just works better in Vegas. It’s set up to handle a conference the size of AU, with 10,000 to 15,000 people. It’s typically pretty easy to get to from anywhere in the world, and it has its own type of energy and excitement that lends itself well to a tech conference.

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and some people do like the idea of moving locations each year. But from a logistics point of view, it really just needs to stay in Vegas.

So, what did my week at AU actually look like? A little bit of everything, as it turns out.
