It’s hard to believe that it is already that time of year again, but registration for AU 2017 in Las Vegas opened this week on Wednesday, Aug. 9th, and some sessions are already sold out!
The event is once again back at the Venetian this year, and I have been lucky enough to be selected to deliver 3 sessions.
So if you missed out on some of the Hot ones like John Pierson’s Lab AS122487-L – FlexibleFamilies: Learn to Make Your Families Stretch and Flex Like Never Before, or anything by Marcello perhaps one of my sessions will be a fit for you.
In this session, we’ll examine how many in the construction industry are moving away from paper and traditional quality assurance, quality control, and collaboration methods in favor of common data environment solutions such as BIM 360 Docs software. We’ll cover what exactly BIM 360 Docs software is, and how it works as a cloud-based program and a mobile app. We’ll not only look at the benefits but also at the current drawbacks of working with this workflow. We’ll also spend time on basic workflows and best practices for working with BIM 360 Docs. This will include reviewing some of the latest features added to BIM 360 Docs, such as requests for information (RFIs) and submittals.
Construction has a lot of moving parts, both figuratively and literally. Having all your project data in one place can minimize risk and reduce errors, as well as project time. We’ll examine benefits of the BIM 360 ecosystem and how they could help with your architecture, engineering, and construction workflow, including keeping up to date on the design; detecting clashes before they’re built; providing one location for all project documentation; managing project quality; doing project layout from an iPad; and offering simple and effective punch lists for contractors. In this session, we’ll see how the available tools in the BIM 360 ecosystem can enhance your workflow—regardless of the design tools you use.
This lab session will focus on some of the newer features of FormIt Pro software, as well as tips and tricks to help with your FormIt Pro workflow. We’ll create a building with FormIt Pro software using the Microsoft Windows app. We’ll also spend some time understanding the Dynamo Studio workflow within FormIt Pro for Windows software, and how we can use it for quick design iterations.
I know it seems like November is a long ways away during these dog days of summer, but it’s closer than you think.
So don’t wait too long to sign up for AU 2017, plus if you sign up early you get $425 off!
