2 Great Presentation – 1 Great Night – March 18, 2015
Details on that evenings presentations:
Presentation 1: David Long – Northstar Engineering
Northstar Engineering & Technologies Ltd. is both an Ontario and Alberta corporation, started in 2004 by David Long and has been active in Alberta since 2009. We began our journey with Revit MEP early in 2008 and have used it exclusively ever since. We provide MEP designs for commercial buildings of many types as well as industrial engineering related to process, safety and equipment.
Presentation 2: Sylvia Gacek & Robert Wenarchuk
“The Aviation Hub of Choice – Connecting People and Prosperity” where one of the key objectives is to achieve “Capacity, Connectivity and Passenger Experience.” When the IFP opens for international and transborder travel the Air Terminal Building (ATB) will transform into a domestic only terminal and will become the second busiest airport in the country. Upon opening of the new IFP, the Airport plans to convert the existing baggage handling system (BHS) within the ATB to the CrisBag System to match the IFP, and to allow for seamless and efficient baggage movement throughout the entire airport. The renovation and conversion to the new system needs to be completed while maintaining full operation of the airport.
This presentation will review our strategy to successfully accomplish this complex phasing refurbishment, by building and providing a LOD 300 3D digital Revit and Navisworks models for coordination of the CrisBag System with the Air Terminal Building. This includes incorporating point cloud data from laser scans of the existing ATB and the BHS 3D CAD model into the Revit and Navis models. Clash detection and CrisBag System accuracy will be achieved in a 3D environment throughout the duration of the project.
