About the BIMsider

The BIMsider is Carl Storms – Technical Success Manager at Newforma.

He been working in the AECO industry since 1998, spending much of that time as a proud BIM crusader helping teams adopt digital workflows and rethink how projects get delivered.

These days he is more of an AECO tech explorer.

He likes trying new tools, experimenting with ideas, and figuring out how emerging technology actually fits into real workflows. Lately that means spending a lot of time exploring AI, automation, APIs, and low-code or no-code tools, often experimenting with AI-assisted coding along the way. His goal is simple: explore the technology early, share what he has learned, and help others decide if it’s worth their time.

He shares what he has learn through The BIMsider, speaking at industry events, and conversations across the AECO community. Over the years he’s also hosted or co-hosted several industry podcasts and have been fortunate to be part of the Autodesk Expert Elite community.
